Victorian Rose Cut Diamond, Sapphire & Ruby Butterfly Brooch

A flurry of stunning gemstones create this beautiful butterfly motif. The late Victorian brooch obtains a half pearl coated thorax, gracefully flanked by rose cut diamond wings. Each delicate wing holds 3 deep red rubies and 2 rich blue sapphires. On its reverse, its main pin is accompanied by a chain attached safety pin, to securely wear the brooch anywhere. Due to its fine age, all original hallmarks have worn away, so we have tested the brooch as 15ct and left it unstamped.
